Happy New Year!

Happy New Year's Eve!  All the best in 2015 to you!  I only did one mani for New Year's and these are what I'll be wearing as I ring in the New Year tonight!

For the base, I wanted something with just a slight holo and my first thought was the LA Girl 3D Effects; I settled upon 3D Silver...which has way more holo than I anticipated making it hard to capture the stamping well!  But a good choice for New Year's eve, I think!

This is 4 coats, no topcoat (as I'm not  fan of VNL on me).

See the holo here best!

Stamped using black Konad special polish using Infinity 76 (ring), Handy n.5 (all the fireworks) and Sugar Bubbles SBS 09 (middle and thumb).

This is my right hand; slightly different and only two cots of base which actually was enough I think!

Top coated.

After the mani was finished, coated with OPI matte which realllyyyy killed the holo but you can see the stamping better.

Not for me so top coated again.

Have a wonderful New Year's!  I hope you are doing something much more exciting than my night, which is typing this post while watching tv!  I'm sure midnight will hit as it always does; me watching the countdown with the hubs snoring on the couch!  Have a fabulous night....and all the best in 2015!

Thanks for looking!

P.S:  9:17 pm and hubs is already snoring lol!

(Toronto Maple Leaf) Sweater Nails

In late November/early December, I went through a phase where I could not pick a plate or a polish for the life of me! I was overly frustrated with how long it was taking me to pick an image from a plate; it would take much longer than actually doing my nails.  So whenever I couldn't pick a plate or polish, I picked whatever polish happen to be nearest to me and went with sweater nails!  I believe I've already shared one or two of those sweater nails (and there are more to come); this is another one of them!

Started with a base of two coats of Lilypad Lacquer A Balt Out of the Blue.  This is no top coat.

This pix you can see the holo sparkle a bit better but the polish isn't overly holographic.

Top coated with KBShimmer Clearly on Top.

Stamped using images from Marianne Nails n.53 using white Konad special polish.

Top coated to finish.

This might look a familiar if you drink a large coffee; Tim Horton's did all their cups in cool sweater designs!

These look just like the Toronto Maple Leaf colours which is why I dubbed the Toronto Maple Leaf sweater nails!

Last of the Christmas Nails!

Hopefully you are having a great weekend and enjoying the holiday season! We visited with the hubs family yesterday; these were the nails that I was wearing!

Started with a base of two coats of Cirque Lonesome George.

Top coated with KBShimmer Clearly on top prior to stamping.

Using Mundo de Unas #1, stamped with an image from Sugar Bubbles SBS 08.

Added red circle stones as berries.

Top coated to finish.  Unfortunately, the top coat again turned the stamping polish again despite a layer of top coat before stamping.  Grrrr!  But it was pretty none the less!

Sugar Bubbles SBS08

Look - The Grinch!!!  I just got this plate a few days before Christmas but I do hope to use it for next year!

I was pleased as punch how the stamping turned out on both hands (thanks squishy stamper!) as all nails lined up pretty good!  Here's a pix of my right hand; I dotted berries for it.

Enjoy the rest of your weekend; thanks for looking!

Merry Christmas!

Merry Christmas! I'm spending the day with family; these are the nails I'm wearing!

Started with a base of skittles; polishes used starting at thumb and going clockwise are KBShimmer Holly Back Girl (three coats), Cutex Velvet Velour (three coats), OPI My Boyfriend Scales Walls (two coats), CND Green Scene (two coats) and OPI My Boyfriend Scales Walls again.  Topped with KBShimmer Clearly on Top.

Stamped using assortment of images; Infinity 28 (thumb), Chez D01 (middle), MoYou Festive Collection-06 (ring), Chez Xmas 001 (index) and Mundo de Unas N3 (pinky).  Stamping polishes used were Mundo de Unas 1 (white), 9 (red) and 37 (green).

Added a few images as filler from Chez Noel 002 (holly on middle), SdP D-12 (poinsettia on thumb), Chez Noel 003 (holly on pinky and thumb, star on middle and snowflake on index) and MoYou Festive Collection 01 (bows on middle and thumb).  Same stamping polishes used.

Added some red and green dots to correct stamping, for interest, berries, etc.

Top coated with KBShimmer Clearly on Top to finish.

I wish you and yours a Merry Christmas today!

Christmas Nails!

It's hard to believe that it's Christmas Eve and Christmas is just one sleep away!  I did these nails a couple nights ago; I went with something more in the holiday spirit; here's what I came up with!

Started with a base of Different Dimension HO3 (red), Different Dimension TREEmendous (lighter green) and Sally Hansen Ever Green (dark green), two coats, no top coat.

Top coated with KBShimmer Clearly on Top.

Stamped using Mundo de Unas #1 using Sugar Bubbles SB Special 02 (index), Sugar Bubbles SBS 01 (middle and pinky) and Chez Noel 002 (ring).

Added a coat of KBShimmer Candy Cane Crush! on thumb.  Also, fished out a few of the red glitters from it and added to holly on pinky.  Found a red glitter star and placed it on the tree on middle to finish.  I thought about adding some green dots to the red fingers but decided to leave it as it is.

Because sometimes the smallest things amuse me, I took a pix of my thumb when I first swiped Candy Cane Crush as those glitters just lined up just so!  I couldn't get them to budge with a brush and eventually removed a couple of them with tweezers; as much as I like glitter, I didn't want it spread out like this!

Sugar Bubbles SBS 01.

Love the trees in the second row, middle image!

Top coated to finish.

I'm not sure if I'll be doing a post for Christmas Day and Boxing Day as simply so much to do and running out of time!  So have a fantastic Christmas; all the best to you and yours over the holiday!

Not Your Typical Christmas Nails!

When I sat down to do my nails a couple nights ago, I was wanting to do something a little bit less traditional to wear, but still in the holiday spirit, if that makes sense as I was tiring of wearing red, green and white!  This is what I came up with!

Started with a base of two coats of Butter London Gobsmacked with accent fingers of Esmaltes da Kelly Citrino, no top coat.

Top coated with KBShimmer Clearly on Top.

Stamped using CND Gold Chrome using Bundle Monster BM-H03; accent fingers are BundleMonster BM-SE1 using black Konad.

BM-H03

Top coated with KBShimmer Clearly on Top.

I thought the stamping on the BundleMonster nails might be more visible if they were matted so topped with OPI Matte.

I was going to initially stamp all fingers with the floral images and in hindsight, I wish I would have done that as think the fine stamping on BL Gobsmacked gets lost, but do like the colour combination of the charcoal and gold; I'm sure I'll try it again another time!  I'm on the fence about this one; maybe more traditional colours would have been the way to go lol!
