Nvr Enuff Polish Prototype and EdM 13

Not too long ago, I received an order of Nvr Enuff polishes including a few mysteries. One that immediately caught my eye was this intense royal blue with flashes of shimmer and maybe even a little hint of glitter or flakie.  This bright blue was the perfect base on a night when I wanted to do a polish change but didn't have a lot of time to do them (aka, most nights).  Still love that stampers can come up with something this cool in no time flat! Here's what I came up with!

Started with a base of two coats of Nvr Enuff Prototype; shown with no top coat. This is one one of those polishes that you wonder if it is going to leave you with smurf nails or stain your skin but there were no issues.

Topped with a coat of Girly Bits What A Rush QD before stamping.

Picked this image from Emily de Molly 13.  I thought that it would provide lots of stamping interest yet leave enough voids to see the beauty of the base polish underneath.  Used Funky Fingers Gesso as the stamping polish, intentionally doing each finger just a little bit different for some added interest.

This is the thumb from my right hand which shows moreso how the image would look if you stamped the image in a more "traditional" way.  Which would be great if all my nails are this long but they aren't.  I do however, like the mixed up look of them that I did end up with, but just thought I would share this for matter of interest!

While I purchased this plate, I was fortunate enough to review several others for Emily de Molly.  Just a reminder that Emily de Molly stamping plates and vinyls can be purchased via their store here with international shipping from Australia. There is also a US Emily de Molly estore here that also ships plates and polishes to US and Canada. Emily de Molly products are also available via these stock lists with many offering international shipping!

40 Great Nail Art Ideas Does Spring!

This is the mani I did for 40 Great Nail Art Ideas Spring challenge; I guess this is the closest I'll get this year to an Easter mani!

I started by making these stamper decals using images from UberChic Yay Spring! (daffodils, lilies and Easter Rabbit with basket), Moyra Stamping Plate 14-Moments (brown rabbits) and MJ II (tulips) and acrylic paints.  I had to shrink the daffodils, lilies and rabbits using the UberChic Luxe stamper (and even with this shrinking, the three rabbits were still too big for my nails).

UberChic Yay Spring!

I did a sponged gradient using Girly Bits It's Hoop To Be Square, Girly Bits Dreaming Tree and Girly Bits Blue Christmas.  No pix as on two fingers, the gradient was really bad; for some reason, when I was deepening the sponging, it was taking off more polish than it was putting on especially on the middle finger and the tip of the thumb.  I had planned on placing the rabbit on the middle anyway and it covered most of it but just not picture worthy.

The images used were UberChic UC Yay Spring! (thumb, ring and words on index). Moyra 14 (middle) and MJ II (pinky).   While I thought the little Easter Bunny and basket was super cute, it just didn't look like it went with the vibe on the nails once I starting applying the decals so I didn't end up using it and went with the words on the index finger instead.  You may notice on the plate pix or maybe have read about it out there on the blogesphere that the image on the plate that is suppose to say "Yay Spring!" is actually "Yay Srping!". I individually stamped on the S, then the p, then the r, then ing! using a clear stamper.  Some of the r and n came off and actually went onto the stamper when I stamped on the butterfly, so I just painted them in to fill as well as dotted the I because it didn't stamp initially.  The butterflies and dragon fly are from Infinity 171. I also cut down the decal on the pinky to make it fit a little better, although now seeing these pictures, I wish I had have noticed that I cut off some leaves!

Here's the other ladies Spring mani's!

The holiday lover in me can't believe I didn't eek in an Easter mani; I guess next year, I'll have to start right after Valentine's Day or St. Pat's just to make sure I have a couple!

Star Burst on Colors by Llarowe Rosie Posie

Happy Easter!  Hope you are having a fabulous day!

I'm sorry to be MIA this last week; I haven't even had time to do an Easter mani (gasp!) as I've been super busy the last couple of weeks on projects and other factors that I just haven't been doing my nails as much as normal.  In fact, I did these nails quickly on Tuesday night and they are still on my nails as I type this post! Very unusual for me but good thing I love the look of them lol!

Started with a base of two coats of Colors by Llarowe Rosie Posie.  Cbl Rosie Posie is a bright pink with light holographic and loads of shimmer.

Topped with a coat of Girly Bits What A Rush QD before stamping.

Stamped using UberChic UC 4-01 using Funky Fingers Gesso.  I'm especially happy how well these placed given that for some reason, not one of the many clear stampers that I own would pick up the image to help with placement.  NOT A ONE. So I had to resort to my regular FAB stamper which isn't clear and just placed as best as I could.  I didn't do too bad on the fingers but the thumb isn't centered as well as it could be.  But I'll take it lol.

This isn't the best pix but this is my right hand; by some miracle, I stamped it more centered than the left hand, again, without a clear stamper.

Enjoy the rest of your Easter Sunday; thanks for looking!

40 Great Nail Art Ideas Does 3 Shades of Green

This weeks 40 Great Nail Art Idea's theme is 3 shades of green; I had added prompt of patchwork.

Started by making stamper decals using my three polishes; I chose a cream, OPI I'm Sooo Swamped, a microglitter, Painted Polish Shamrock Shimmy, and a crelly with green glitter, Noodles Nail Polish Clovers and Coins, which I hope make for some interest.  For the patchwork, used an image from A48.  The teddy bear is from OB42, filled with OPI I'm Sooo Swamped.

A48

Cut the stamper decals down to size to fit.  For the accent, did one coat of Noodles Nail Polish Clover and Coins over OPI My Boyfriend Scales Walls.

Added teddy bear to accent.

Topped everything off with Girly Bits What A Rush QD TC.

I did these last night; this morning, we finally had some sun so took a picture in natural light.  You can see the holo in Painted Polish Shamrock Shimmy a little better.

Here's the other ladies three shades of green mani's with the different prompts!

Digit-al Dozen Does Spring; Day 3

Here's the Day 3 mani that I skipped posting earlier this week for the Digit-al Dozen spring challenge. Unfortunately, just didn't have enough time to do the blog post even though I had the nails done and uploaded so sorry about that.  This mani features the spring saying, "April Showers, Bring May Flowers!" Here's what I came up with!

Started with a sponged gradient using KBShimmer Leggo My Mango, KBShimmer Bahama Drama and Girly Bits Hoop! There It Is.  Unfortunately, these pix don't show the vibrancy of the nails; they were much brighter in person.  Also, the darker part of the gradient that the Girly Bits was used is more pink, not orange/coral looking as shown.

Topped with Girly Bits What A Rush QD TC before stamping.

Stamped using MdU 4 (smaller words on index and ring), Marianne n.99 (flowers on pinky and thumb), FUN 15 (couple on middle), Nailways Back to Basics 123 ABC (April on index) and UberChic UC 3-03 (raindrops on middle).  I had every intention of using the words April Showers.. from the Marianne n.99 plate but even with shrinking, couldn't get the images small enough to fit my nails.  I think perhaps if I had have double stamped them using two UC Luxe stampers, they might have fit but didn't think of it at the the time.  I did individual letters for April but ended up using the MdU 4 plate for the rest, but I wish the images are just a smidgen too small.

We had more than our share of showers this past week; I guess spring is right around the corner!  I even seen a robin this morning so I guess it is right on time with the official arrival of spring tomorrow!

Digit-al Dozen Does Spring; Day 5

It's Day 5 of Digit-al Dozen week and I've been saving my favourite mani for last!  (Well, other than the fact I still have to post my Day 3 mani which is done, I just need to finish the blog post!).

Years ago, the return of Canada Geese from migrating was the first sign that spring was around the corner.  But nowadays, they don't even fly south (at least where I live); they hang around all winter long.  So I always look out for the first robin as the start of spring and did a mani featuring an iconic spring figure here in Ontario; the arrival of the robin heralding that spring has officially arrived!

Started with a base of NYC Skyline Blue; this is two coats, no top coat.

Did a sponged gradient using Kiara Sky Skies the Limit and Angelacq Lacquer Spectrum Blue.

Top coated with Girly Bits What A Rush QD TC before stamping.

Added some clouds using Konad m79 with Funky Fingers Gesso.

After making a stamper decal using an image from Moyra Stamping Plate 14-Moments using acrylic paints, added a few branches. Note that the bird was initially shrunk using the Uber Chic Luxe stamper, then stamped again onto the Konad double ended stamper so I could make the decal so the image is reversed from what it is shown on the plate and smaller.

I still haven't seen any robins in my area yet even though Sunday is the first day of spring.  But we certainly have had our share of rain which is usually another indication of spring; hopefully it is just around the corner!
